My fitness journey began nearly two decades ago, when I began strength training for the first time. I remember marvelling at the connection that developed between my physical strength and my mental strength, and knew I’d found something I’d carry with me for a lifetime.
I’ve since spent the last 14 years studying exercise and nutrition, and will spend the next 14 studying, too. My job is to guide my clients through their process safely, effectively, and efficiently, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I’ve helped hundreds of people reach their fitness goals and I look forward to working with hundreds more. What sets me apart is my appreciation for not only the potential of the human body, but its limitations. You can’t be strong without also being flexible, and you can’t build a castle on a flimsy foundation. What that means for our training is that I will make you functionally fit — not just superficially fit, though the superficial will come too. I know what’s needed to help you get the body composition you’re looking for and the self-confidence that comes with it.
And because I myself have been both overfat and underfat, I have an acute appreciation for the level of effort and dedication required to go from one to the other. I can empathize with my clients in a very real way, but also have immense respect for the qualities that fitness both requires and develops. Work ethic, determination, problem solving skills — these all come from training.
I’ve heard so many individuals’ stories that resonate with my past personal history, and that empathy forms the foundation of my training style. I know how difficult it can be to build new habits and break old ones, and I’m here to encourage my clients every step of the way, not browbeat them into following instruction.
